Image resize with crop
Resize (enlarge or downsize) image to definied size. Keep ratio, fill size completely and then center image and crop if image is to large in width or hight. This way image always has same size in layout.

I think this feature would be really helpful for everyone! It should be possible for the user to upload the image and be able to select the area which would be cropped. I'm thinking of something like the "PHP image editor" for Joomla but with predefined dimensions (e.g. 700x300px).

How do you do that. I had a look at the php file. I'm no programmer so i wouldn't know how to. Any clue?

@detox: Can be easily done in utils.form2content.php.
Maybe there could an field-option to select the image handling (like scale, scale&crop, etc.)?
Further - what would be even better, give the option for multiple styles per image (different sizes, effects, watermarks, etc.) -

I really would like function as it's a nightmare holding the image size when a client add another image to the layout which either wrong size, etc..
