I would like to suggest a new field type: "select menu item"
With this field (input field and button) you can select an existing Joomla menu item.
Once selected it will write down the non-sef url into the field.

I want to use the output of this field to wrap it around an image or use it on an onClick event in a html tag.

it's just like the button "add link" in JCE
